  1. I like to see that a lot of people are now really into Anime and Manga. I am happy for this because this was not the case a few years back and it was really hard to get access to them.

  2. RC, why do you think Anime mags are easier to obtain now? What caused the explosion in anime interest? I would have thought they were easier to get in the ‘90s with Sailor Moon being popular. What’s popular now?

On a different note, why are Japanese cars more coveted than American cars? I guess you can tell I’m not a car buff. Everyone keeps saying that the Japanese models are of better quality. I remember in sociology class years ago, our textbook (or perhaps it was my professor, I can’t quite remember) stated that the Japanese do businesses according to the top down method. Americans are the opposite. American CEO’s specifically train to be a boss and make decisions without consulting the lower rank that actually make the cars. I’ve heard that Japanese CEO’s take into account thoughts from car makers, mechanics, etc before making a behest. It sounds like a huge generalization though, so don’t anyone take offense, please. It’s just a thought from a book (or teacher)?

  3. I don’t think the Japanese have a better quality, for most of the parts on US cars are from China and Japan, but it’s the ideas and innovation that put them ahead. Toyota was planning hybrids before they were even popular years back. They take the initiative and go with it also I feel their warranties are much better as Hyundai offers 10 year 100,000 mile warranties and now offering if you lose your income they will take the car back. These are the areas that make them more popular as well as price. On the other hand imports are great for racing or show cars because there’s many manufactures that make custom parts and are easy to install. I think it’s just more than CEO's.

back to Japan though I had a buddy move there almost a year ago now and goes to the University in Tokyo and he loves it.

  5. Helena,
Manga is easier to obtain now because it is a more mainstream item. There are a lot more titles and even a manga section at bookstores now. That never use to be the case when Sailor Moon was around, you would have to go to specialty store to obtain manga. Now, when now you go into your neighborhood bookstore or library they most likely will have a manga section with a vast amount of manga to choose from.
